With the begining of the 1980s aerodynamics seemed to be key to the future of cycling. Columbus developed an ovalized aerodynamic set of tubes and lugs called Oval CX. But building bicycles with the new tube set was highly time and money consuming. So bikes using it were rare even in the 1980s. However Vanni Pettenella an Italian master frame builder created this bicycle using lugs and tubes for Colnago.

1981 Colnago ‘Oval CX’ in its original state and completely fitted with NOS parts. Setup has been done at Colnago’s workshop in Cambiago, Italy. With Modolo Kronos delta brakes and fully pantographed Campagnolo Super Record parts.
Made of exclusive Columbus Oval CX tubes and lugs.
Remark: a small scratch on the down tube decal (drive train side, within the three colour stripes)
NOS – New old stock, never used.
The frameset is NOS and we guarantee that it’s free of dents, rust or other structural damages. Furthermore all mounted parts are in NOS condition as well.It has been build-up with Colnago directly. The bicycle however can show minor signs of shelfwear due to age and storage.
No VAT (differential taxation) for pre-owend (used/NOS) parts.
